Draft - Variable - materialthickness to get I.D. Dimension

ID dimension.JPG

Currently I am subtracting the material thickness and typing it in the Subfix manually to show the I.D. dimension. My question is there a way to let solid edge do that calculation so I don’t have to?

Something Like (%{variable-materialthickness} I.D.)

Hi,

the only way I can imagine is to do it in 3D part itsrlve using the variable table and to expose this variable.

If you add a PMI, that can be displayed in draft.

I don't use that myself, but I do display plane values and even do math with the plane locations to display volumes and sizes of my sheet metal box's. I set up my models with that process in mind.

Any named variable (Give the PMI a name) can be displayed in draft.

If needed, set up PMI2 = PMI1+X or whatever. Then display PMI2

Hi,

Yes, you can do it, here is a video about steps:

Thanks for the video I think you’re on the right track. But, I’m not wanting to show the material thickness below the dimension I’m needing the value that is assigned to that coordinate and the suffix will take that variable and subtract the material thickness.

This more like what Im talking about. But, I have to manually subtract the MT and my MT is 10 gauge .135Capture 2.JPG
