I was wondering if it was possible to orient draft views to a custom coordinate system used in the part?

Thank you in advance.

Hi @snake_1

not absolute sure what You mean with "orient draft views to a custom coordinate system ..." ,
but what You can do at all is to define "vioews" in 3D documents, give them names and those now can be used in draft view orientation/placing.

So if this helps use "look at a plane" in part, create a view of that and use it.

Or You even define a PMI view directly in part which now again directly can be used during draft creation (and aftwerwards too)

Or You also can use the interactive orientation (custom Orientation) in draft itself without the need of creating a view first.

Thanks Wolfgang

Within ordered part you have the ability to create a custom coordinate system.  When you place draft views the program uses the default coodinate system.

Your suggestion works great.  I am able to orient to the face and use sketches within the user defined setup view to further fine tune the draft view.

It worked like a charm.

Thanks
