I agree.  I end up just dimensioning the hole twice and switch one of the dimensions over to a metric style

@lifofadrafter  Yeah, awkward and non-standard but about the only way.

Hi

but formatting is working for property text callouts.

So if You use that as long as it will be fixed Yon only need to call this once per hole

@hawcad, What do you mean "but formatting is working for property text callouts."? I disagree.

First the formatting is limited to a vertical orientation and you can't enclose the secondary dim in brackets or paranthesis. So, the formatting is nonconforming to other dual dimensions. Secondly, where are the dual units for the counterbore and depth?

Also, on the other redundant thread of the same topic I already demonstrated that you could make a callout that reflects the values. However, again the format is not standard, the method is clumsy. Now add tolerancing. Umm, you can't AFAIK.

The bottom line is that hole callouts could use considerable improvement.

Hi @bshand

You are right what is concerning the tolerancing.

Tolerances only can be added in the primary unit

But, and this was my inital topic, for callout property text You are able to format the Feature Callouts where on the other hand for dimensions You can't do it using the same Feature Callout.

And - this is our lucky position - dual units is not used that much often, so we haven't run into that problem.

World could be easier if we all would use the same units - and - if we would talk the same language

But we don't

Wolfgang

@hawcad, again I disagree. The world doesn't need to change. The software should allow you to format hole callouts the same way as in all other callouts and dimensions. It doesn't.

I agree - very frustrating. If something works somewhere - it should work everywhere (and generally should be implemented similarly [within the context of the object types being operated on]).
