Etch - how do you show this in your draft?

I want our supplier to etch the lasered part:

When shown in draft the lines are the same like the outline. How do you solve this to make it more visible, so the outline is different from the etch lines?

Hi,

first I thought, that changing the etch properties in PSM will change them in draft too.

But, sorry to say, it isn't that way.

So the only way I see as a fast solution, go to the props of the drawing view, select the etches in the path finder and give them a different line style

See the picture

Hi @Joris,

Are you sending your supplier a draft, rather than the "Save As Flat - DXF?

I have our "Save As Flat - DXF Options" set to have the "etching layer to suit our laser team's software, that makes use of layers, and filters layer names & line color, for different operations.

...but as @hawcad says, for use in draft, just alter the display style for the etching.

Thanks, but not the solution I am looking for.

I thougt I could change this in my template in the style window, but no luck...

Any idea if I can change the apperiance of an etch in my template?

If not, I will ask our VAR for a ER.

Hi @Joris,

None that I'm aware of....good luck, and please share your results, if you find one.

@Joris

I'm not understanding the issue and what it is you want. I know you want the etch lines to appear differently but differently how? And do you want to be able to change them manually or are you asking for an automated method?

Hi,

Etching will be represented by "default" (what is in your template) visible line style.

@bshand I want a different line for etch:

In my start topic you can see how it is drawn default, above is what I did manually.

I want this to be done automatically.

This IR was converted into an enhancement request (ER) on 01-DEC-2015
and is now referenced as ER Number 1861151. It is not currently scheduled

for implementation.
