Hi @chrisstandring,

Woops, sorry. I re-read what I wrote, and corrected it.......as I still had to toggle the offending lines to/from construction, but I don't have a 2.5mm line width in the drop down selection.

Re: Fat lines in sketch environment!

Hi @chrisstandring,

To be able to change line width in sketch, first turn off "Relationship Color" on Inspect tab, Evaluate group.

Then, start line command, change the line width and finish line command.

Other line drawn will keep this setting of line width (even if you turn back on "Relationship color").

Hope that helps,

Yup, that did the trick here, thanks @Michel_Corriv.

@Michel_Corriv, thanks for that.  I am very curious how the default changed to 2.5 mm on that one file, though!

@SeanCresswell, you have a 0.25 mm width in the drop-down list but not 2.5 mm.

We are not out of the woods yet.  After changing that default I was wondering why the point command was not working.  I then noticed that the points being placed were the same size as the "corrected" line thickness and as such, could not be seen if they were on a line.  Interestingly, the default point size is 2.5 mm, so that may or may not be a clue as to what is going on.

So changing the default line thickness also changes the default size of the points.  Now the lines are behaving but I have to make every single point larger!  I am going to send this one in to GTAC!

Re: Fat lines in sketch environment!

Hi @chrisstandring,

I can't reproduce your problem.

Point size is staying at 2.5mm regardless of line width.

I'm on SE 2019 MP 04 ...

@Michel_Corriv@bshand, to reproduce the problem please open the attached part file and follow the nine steps illustrated in the nine attached pictures Step 1 to Step 9 inclusive.  Let me know if I have screwed up somewhere and how to fix it.

Cheers,

Chris

I'm not sure what's going on yet but I did spend a few minutes. Once I got the lines and points to insert independently, closed the part, then couldn't repeat that.

I opened a new ansi inch default template part and there was no issue with "cross contamination". Also with the default template the point has a 2.5mm width whereas line has a 2.0mm max width.

I didn't spend a lot of time with it but I'd say, just to put it to bed, so I can go to bed, that part has an anomaly of some kind.

Bottom line I don't think it's a general code design fault.
