@aslam That is what I meant. Can you not have the bolts, nuts, what-have-you simply have the description as it's filename? This is what I do, and it works fine for me. Sure, you can't use some symbols like for fractions (i.e. "1/4-20 UNC HEX BOLT" must be named a different way, either like .25-20 UNC or 1_4-20) but it works. And it seems that it would satisfy all of what you're needing, except no idea why the "connection type" is going to matter but to each his own I guess.
It seems that I have made so many confusions. Extremely sorry for that.
That's why I have attached an example image for easy visualization of the issue.
The left part list is actual part list which we use, and it must be like this.
The right one is expected breakdown. The grouped by type column is which I was talking about.
I have to make the right side table manually in excel always to count bolts in a project clearly.
If the TYPE column can be added in the part list while checking, that will be good enough. After that I will hide the column before printing.
I have to apologize for my answers here.
Just seen - thanks again to @bshand and his PM, that You can use Occurency Proeprties for be shown in the BOM, but SE does not split them accordingly.
So You only see those properties, but YOu will not get out a count with that methode.
See following picture and the CallOut texts with different OCP and the entries in the BOM, but as said, sorry for that, no quantites.
So this has lead me into a wrong direction.
Sorry for sending You to that direction too!
