Force vertical alignment

[ Edited ]

Sorry for these basic questions, but please bear with me.  I have a simple sketch and want to align the midpoint of the base with the origin.  I select the origin and the midpoint of the base, but when I click on the horizontal/vertical relationship, it line them up horizontally.

How do I force a vertical alignment?  Wouldn't be easier to have separate buttons for horizontal and vertcial alignment?

Betreff: Force vertical alignment

Hi,

Simply use the "Connection Relation" instead.

This is the upper left button in the relate area.

Thank you.

Re: Force vertical alignment

While connect will work, the issue you were having with Vertical alignment is that you were just too far from vertically aligned to begin with. The H/V command looks at current situation and does H or V, depending on which one is already closest. So if you had dragged your shape over to be more or less under the Csys, then chosen H/V, it would have worked just fine.
