I think everybody here contribues what they can when they can. Great community.
When it comes to Nurbs, they are tied to surface modeling, and need to be involved if reverse engineering/3D printing are to be capcities of SE. Once you get into reverse engineering (point clouds) you need it all (Point, Polygons, Nurbs, Primatives) and the ability to back and frorth from any of them to any other directly.
