Hi all expert users.

I use Solid Edge 10, in a sheet metal orderd enviroment.

When i place sheet metal parts in draft i use drawing view layout.

When i have shown top, left, bottom and ISO view, i  want to just copy one of the views and have a selection option "Drawing view wizard" when i right click it.

Is this a option easy to get?

Hi @Arild

no, simply restart the Drawing View Wizzard a second time.

The form will show You already existing parts from this drawing so YOu only need to reselect the one YOu want and rerunthrough the wizzard.

PS.: the much easier method - I can suggest and recommend - is, to save certain layouts with a name, even You can specify Your favorite for e.g. a PSM or PAR, so that Solid Edge automatically runs into this layout when bringing such a part into a drawing.

And You can select out from this options menu whenever You want to get it.

Wolfgang

ok, so i can save 1 as Bent, and 1 as Flat. Got it.

But new queston then. Is it possible to make a caption of this option too?

When selecting "Flat", then PSM part get text "Flat" to primary caption.

You could also make drawing view styles with the words you want in the caption. Save them in your draft template. Then you can select a view and assign the appropriate style any time.

I would guess that the problem you are trying to adress is that item numbers are not available for use with flat pattern lables.

To overcome this, I ended up using gineric lables for sheet metal parts. What also compunds the problem is that no part numbers are used for sheet metal parts because they could be cut or nested from any size blank sheet.

My solution is to give each sheet metal part a gineric name ( and number like this:

B1, Body 1

B2, Body 2, etc....

L1, Lid 1

E1, End cap 1

By using this, I can place the same caption under both the flat pattern and the bent views of the finished part with the exact same lable. Note, I use the gage table that provides a gage label.

Here is the label I use for sheet metal part views.

%{Document Number|GP} %{Title|GP} %{Mass/@1|GP}
%{Gage|GP} x %{Flat_Pattern_Model_CutSizeX/CP/@3|G} x %{Flat_Pattern_Model_CutSizeY/CP/@3|G}

I use the same system for the sheet metal part file names. B1, B2, L1, etc...
