Ed,
It sounds like you know where the objects are, which is on the background
sheet. You just want to make the change one time so that it is available for
all draft files you create.
The templates are in "C:\Program Files\Solid Edge 2D Drafting V20\Template"
You should see the "normal.dft" file there. There is also a subdirectory
called "more". This is a place where you can add your own customized
templates.
Create a new draft file and make the modifications you want for your
template.
You now have a couple of options:
1. You can now save the file to the template directory above and name the
file "normal.dft". This will overwrite the default template file.
2. You can also, and this is what I suggest, save the file to the "more" sub
directory under the template directory. Give the file a valid name you would
use for your template. You can create as many customized templates this way
as you need. When you create a new draft file, click on the "more"tab in the
File New dialog. You will see your custom templates. The draft file will be
based on your template selected.
