Hidden line isn't existing but it's visible in the draft.

Hello all,

it seems that Solid Edge is showing a hidden line of the end of the G1/2" thread depth, that is not existing -see the attachement please- .

Thanks in advance for the community!

It shouldn't.  I would turn this into your VAR as a Problem so that it can be fixed.

Thanks,

Thanks Grundey for your replay,

I will re-simulate the problem this week-end under another configuration "ST6", to see if it would be reproducible.

looks like the thread depth is not the extent of the thru hole depth,  so the hidden line is where the thread depth stops.

i am assuming this from your immage,  see here threaddepth.png

That's right Matt.
I am now trying to reproduce this "anomaly" per ST6 MP6 now to see if it still causing any problems.

I could reproduce it with ST6MP6!
Please see the attachement!
It seems, that I have to follow the proposition of Grundey and contact the VAR.

I beleive this is as expected.   we do place a hidden line the represent the thread depth..  so this hidden line should be here.

see the image...  the hidden line can be confirmed with a section view...

if we "see" a line in the section  then we should "see" the hidden line as well in the solid view...

Matt, the problem is that there is a cross drill that goes through where the thread stops, therefore the hidden line is representing an imaginary edge in empty space which cannot be...

Ken,  Thanks for pointing this out...  I was just thinking and using a simple hole.

hmmmm.   I reckon I understand why this is process and if we don't want it to would need an IR.

Maybe edge painter is the be method for manual clean up at his time since in this example part of the thread dept limit does exist and part of it is consumed by the cross drill...

good one here..  theory vs reality...
