That is the Auto-Save feature... It prompts you after you complete any in process commands you are performing based on the Interval you have set when you turned it on. If this is simply for just in case you crash, use the other option to create a backup copy. If you crash, I believe Solid Edge will provide a prompt when you start it again asking if you want to recover from the backup.
Auto-save has to be renamed to 'prompt me to save' because that is pretty much what that option does. There is no Automatic saving.
If you think about this for a miniute or two, do you really want to fully automatily save everything you do ?
You could get into an almighty mess ! It's simply giving you an automatic prompt to save or not..
Which is exactly my point about renaming that feature, so it matches it's function!
It is misleading to call it 'auto-save' if it does not automatically save.
