I tried making templates, but I never know the exact group of file names that will be used for each draft, so I end up with an extra 300 variables in draft that are not used to try and anticipate the 10 to 30 custom variables needed for each piece of sheet metal. Templates don't help, they just make the draft file messy.

 

I make assembly driven parte names like this:

B1=body 1

B2 = body 2

E1 = end cap 1

L1 = lid 1

P1= pan 1

 

So for B1, if it has 4 bends I need 

B1BG1

B1BG1A

B1BG2

B1BG2A

B1BG3

B1BG3A

B1BG4

B1BG4A (Part B1, Back gage 1, Adjusted)

B1ST1 (Part B1, Stick out 1)

ETC.....

B1R (Part B1 bend Radius)

B1T (Part B1 thickness)

 

Tons of variable work, to generate what the actual backgage & stickout is for each bend.

Not a draft template. .asm, .par, .psm templates

 

Anyway, I have no idea what you are doing so I'm just throwing that out there.
