How to easily change sheet scale?

Legend

Hi,

Let's say you create a draft which haves several parts in it. You scale the drawing views so that they fit in the sheet background. You then save the draft to .PDF. You have to also create a DXF-file of the same parts. As most of you know, usually DXF-files have to be scaled 1:1. If I just select the drawing views and change the scale of those to 1:1, all the dimensions stay the same size and are way too small compared to the size of the drawing views. Is there an easy way to change the sheet scale in a way that all the associated text changes size too?

Hi:

Aren't you also changing the background sheet when scaling the views ?

You could just use the scale command in Autocad. If you don't need all the views than you can right click the view, select "Draw in View" and dxf from there....but that's one view at a time with no dimensions.

You'd be best to set your DXF export settings to 'Use base view scale'.  This automatically scales the entire drawing inc. dims and border etc. to 1:1 scale based on the base view.  The base view is always the first View in the Drawing Views collection which is the first view you place on the sheet, and as far as I am aware they can't be re-arranged.

This means if the base view is 1:20 and you have a detail view at 1:10 the exported DXF will be scaled so that the base view is 1:1 and the detail view is 2:1.
