Writing a little app for doing just this would be a piece of cake and I like such low hanging fruits.

 

But if I were to use a built-in function then it would be by tricking the Geometry Inspector command in the Evaluate group of the Inspect ribbon tab.

Uncheck Faults.

Check Small entities.

Check faces.

Uncheck Spikes, Slivers and By area.

 

Provide an unusually large value for Fit in radius, (I tried with 10,000 mm using the Anchor.par in the Training folder)

Click Go and there you go, all faces in the model would be listed and the Results area shows how many faces are in the model.
