How to rename an assembly and draft

Hi,

I got an assembly and draft.

How can I rename the files?

We tried to just rename the files in Windows Explorer, open the draft and Edit Links to pick the new source file (the one we renamed). But the draft is broken, the config file does not work neither.

We are not using the Revision Manager.

Regards,

Kenneth

First, why aren't you using Rev Man? That's what it's for. Second, did you also rename the config file to match the assy?

Not sure why edit links wouldn't fix it. Does it give any message when you try edit links?

We have not learned to use Revision Manager yet.

Yes, we have renamed all 3 files.

No errors, the views just look weird.

We used the tracker and it told us all items on partlist was broken.

Does the assembly have very many parts? If not, maybe you could upload it, the parts, and the draft.

Connections between draft and model files is the reason to use revision manager.

The other way to manage it is keep them in the same directory.
