Independent Pattern

Hi All,

Hopefully this is a simple one and i am just missing the command but i need to create a pattern in an assembly. I need this pattern of parts to be a row of the same part.

I can't seem to find anyway of creating a pattern in an assembly without some pre-existing sketch or pattern in a lower level part.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Use pattern along curve. It  should be right near the pattern by sketch function.

Thanks - I'd tried every other command in the pattern options but that one!!!

Could have also made a sketch with a pattern definition and used that. Or am I missing something?

@bshandHe was wanting to pattern in a single row and wanted to know if he could do it without having a sketch set up or a pattern inside of a part file.

Yeah, I guess. I interpreted "preexisting sketch" as possibly meaning he didn't know how to create one.

HI Guys,

Yea i did know you could apttern off of a sketch but i wanted to know if there was a way to do it without - as most of the commands that would require sketches in other CAD systems are sketch free in solid edge it seemed strange that there wouldn't be a way to apttern without one.

But as has been shown there is a way.

Thanks all.

Hi @GAuckland

exactly, use the Curve Pattern instead of Rectangular

This only needs to give the desired direction and number of pattern instances.
