I tried to install the german free 2d drafting ST3
(a few seconds after configuring the Windows Installation) following error occured:
"The assistent was interrupted before Solid Edge 2D Drafting ST3
could be installed completely. Your System wasn't changed.
To finish the installation later, you have to run the setup again."
My PC : AMD 9650 Quadcore cpu, 4GB ram, 1TB Harddisc and WINDOWS HOME.
UAC , Defender, Firewall and Antivirus were switched off.
I tried the kompatible Mode "Win XP SP3" too.
Do i have to Upgrade to Windows7 Home Premium ?
What else can i do?
Looking forward to get any Tip
Thank's a lot
XP mode is only available with win7pro so that won't help you. You might have to go up to home premium, another person said that it worked fine for them. I upgrade to pro before installing ST3 and it worked fine for me (without the XP mode emulator since I didn't download it yet). That's about the sum total of my win7/ST3 knowledge.
typically this is UAC related, but you say that it is off. Another thing to try is to create a folder on the 'C:' to install the software in. Call it something like 'C:\SoftwareFolder\'. Specify this folder as the folder in which to install the software. There may be some strange things going on with the 'Program Folders' folder. Regards, Rick B.
Meanwhile I installed Windows7 home premium
and I installed a seperate folder for the installation of SE on Csuggested by Rick B)
The same error occured (see my first Thread 2010-12-09 )
It was my WIN7 Installation. I Installed free SE 2d drafting on a PC of a friend (WIN7 HOME),
an every thing went fine. So I insalled WINDOWS completly new and everything is going fine.
I upgraded my (infected ??) System to WIN 7 home premium.
I think my threads can be deleted after a while
Thanks to Rick B and all others i bothered with my problems !
Could it be a language conversion issue? Since you mentioned German I assume that your PC is running in a language different from English and that there could be a strange localization issue with the languages. Wouldn't be the first time such an issue popped up. I don't have a Win7 home system anywhere for testing or I would give it a try in English to see if it worked.
Solid Edge 2D Drafting is certified for Windows 7. Although the Readme states that the high level Win 7operating systems are a requirement. Others have installed successfully on Win 7 home and home premium. German installation should not be an issue. I am trying to find out more about this error. Regards, Rick B.
