I'm needing to find some particular files on our server, and they have the file properties filled out, however a simple windows search has done no good. We don't use insight or teamcenter, is there any way for us to find these files through a search for keywords?
have You seen the following video about the new ST9 Data Managment Capabilities:

There You can see the search functions from windows explorer using indexed Solid Edge properties.
Maybe it helps
Since windows explorer usually has the first and most important column of "name" simply using something in the search box like "name:motor" (without quotes) finds any file with "motor" in the name. Additionally, say the file also had "50hp" somewhere in the name. So then you would put "name:motor name:50", etc.
Right click on a column to see the many properties possible.
If you use the Solid Edge Search found on the Open form, you can specify "Title" as a search field and then specify the search string.
If your files reside on a Windows server and they are indexed by Windows Search, then in the Explorer search field, use: title: "string to search for"
