Items cannot be deleted from assembly

I have some components that I had originally patterned in my assembly, but then those patterns were acting weird in a couple locations so I decided to just delete the patterns and try again. So I got rid of the patterns, but in a couple locations the parts remain. These parts will not go away, I've tried doing a "scroll to" to figure out where they are but it doesn't highlight anything in the pathfinder or assembly tree when I do this. I can select these instances, but it won't let me delete them I get an error that I'll put below.

Re: Items cannot be deleted from assembly

have you looked to assure these items are not indeed in a sub assy.

can you dbl click on ne of the items and edit it in place?

if you hover over the item and wait for quick pick...  quick pick should expose the item and the sub assy where the item is..

try to see if the item is in a sub..

thats my quick guess.

or have you saved, closed file, close SE, re-open and see what you get?

Sorry, I should have marked this as solved. I fixed it yesterday. But yes I could edit in place. And there was no way to locate it in the assembly tree. What ended up fixing it was closing out of SE. Still have no idea why the patterns went so weird on me in the first place. OH well.
