I'm at work, using the commercial version, so can't open your file....but, do you want to have a physical model of the knurling?,...or are you OK with a texture, like Solid Edge uses for threads??
OK...[recycling the model from your thread question here ] for applying a texture, go to Style on the Home tab, select Face Styles, I preselected the thread, and chose "New", making a Knurling [Square] entry, then on the Modify Face Style dialogue, I went to the Texture tab, and applied the image I had saved [see attached texture image "Knurl-1"] in the Solid Edge textures location. [check the Help file for more detail on this]....can also use "Part Painter", with selection method set to "Face" to apply this texture.
Sorry for hijacking the thread a bit but is there a way of physically modeling this rather than just laying a texture on it?
I am trying to model a ripple affect onto a surface but I can't find a way to achieve what I am after
