I have set up an animation with quite a lot of labels (applied using face styles in Solid Edge). When I imported it into keyshot the labels weren't visible.
There are quite a lot of labels in the model, will I need to reapply them all individually in Keyshot, or is there some step that I'm missing?
Solved! Go to Solution.
the only I can say is, that a fast test just made what I expected it to do, it shows the label in Solid Edge as well as in Keyshot.
So I cann't see any issue here at the moment.
But - and this could be a point - I'm using ST10 and not ST9
Ok, thank you for taking the time Wolfgang.
Would you mind sharing the face styles & appearance settings you have used?
I know they will be in German, but should be able to figure them out.
I suspect they are coming across for me, but have imported into Keyshot as being very reflective...
Upgrading to ST10 is definitely on the to do list.
Thanks for taking the time Wolfgang.
I've upgraded to ST10 & Keyshot 7.2 but still having the same issue, I'm sure it's something simple, but tweaking face styles hasn't got me anywhere near what I'm looking for in Keyshot.
I've attached the part, if anybody could take a look at it and make suggestions, that would be great.
sorry for the late answer, but I just came back into the office.
Immedeately the next problem occured: I need the JPG files from Your textures too
Opening the part doesn't show any texture due to the missing picture files
and is it possible to upload those pictures?
Although it is hard to believe that the image itself has to do with the behaviour in Keyshot, but want to exclude this option from my list.
Thank you so much for your help with this Wolfgang.
I'm not sure what I did wrong with this, but I gave up on adjusting the existing face styles I had created.
I created a new face style based on one of the default styles (eg. White (dull)) & the labels transferred over to keyshot perfectly. Sorry, I just recently got to this stage, was trying to get a better understanding of what went wrong, but I'm afraid that's the best I can do.
I was using custom face styles based on other custom face styles, I suspect this may have been an issue, but it is only a hunch...
I have uploaded the files in case you want to have a look at it.
sorry, I was out of the office for over an hour but coming back now I investigated into Your problem and, after several minutes I have found a reason.
First let me point onto another issue, I will show in the following video, that Your bump image does not correspond with the colored texture image in size and position.
But this is not the reason for the invisible label in Keyshot, just to point onot that fact for further use, to keep an eye on that too.
So now what I have seen as the main differnce and finally as the reason for not seeing the labein keyshot is a single option in Your face style which is the "Face Tpye" under the Appearance tab of the style sheet.
This was set to "Paint" and somehow Keyshot does not react correctly t that setting.
I changed this to "Automatic" and voila - that's it.
