Local Help doesn't work suddenly

Hi Edgers,

 

 

may anybody confirm wether You have the same issue and what to do to repair.

 

Since 2 days ago the local help server for ST10 on the same local machine will not work and the services can not be started anymor, even manually.

 

So what could be the reason?

 

It has worked for at least one month without any problem but now the service acn't be started.

 

Maybe there was a JAVA update a couple of days ago.

Could this be the reason?

If so, how to solve it?

Uninstall Java and install the older version?

what will be the n ext time?

 

This of course is not really satisfying.

Hello Wolfgang, I'm running the local ST10 Help on my workstation, and I don't see the problem you describe.  I took an automatic Windows update a few days ago, and I had not tested help since then - so I was curious to see if this is related.  I'm running Windows 10, OS build 15063.786, Siemens PLM Documentation Server 2.1.4.  Is this what you have?

Yes this seems to be the case.

 

 

In the meantime I did a reinstall of Java 1.8.44 (or so, it is the suggested version from the doc server pdf and I have kept it, what seems to be a good idea).

 

 

This now made it possible to run the services again and to use the local help again.

 

Therefore I will set this issue to solved
