Low performance issue in large Assembly

The customer is facing very low performance in large assemblies. The  assembly opening setting are according to large assemblies. any selected command will take 4-5 min for pop-up.

We tested on another machine with Quadro FX 580/600/610 card .

Show all component:20 min

This assembly is having
UNIQUE PARTS= 3568
TOTAL PARTS= 15889
TOTAL SUBASM 1218
UNIQUE SUBASM 392

Plz recommned some good graphics cards .

Something obviously unique going on. We have many customers with over 100K parts in assemblies and performance is nothing like this.A few things:

1. You need to state more about the configuration -- specifically which Solid Edge release and how much RAM on the machine?

2. Have you logged this problem with GTAC?

3. Was it working before? What has changed that suddenly caused this to occur?

PS> It is very unlikely anything to do with Graphics cards. This symptom is indicative of running out of memory (RAM). When you are out of RAM, all bets are off -- things that should take seconds take minutes.

The RAM is 16GB

This issue is already reported to GTAC a month ago. They are still working on this issue.

Re: Low performance issue in large Assembly

Hi,

Does it contain any assembly features like weld beams, chamfers?

Could you post a picture about assy (complexity)?

Re: Low performance issue in large Assembly

I would also check for broken links, also for textures.

I would make a copy of the assembly and all it's part on local drive and open it with the PC fisically disconnected from the network. If with this test the assembly start to fly there is a good possibility that there is broken links.

Re: Low performance issue in large Assembly

How do you check for textures... ?

Re: Low performance issue in large Assembly

Some years ago I had this problem and I have made a simple VB program to check them. I don't know if Revisiona Manager now find this broken links.

I can post my vb program if there is interest.

Re: Low performance issue in large Assembly

Would be nice to have that VB program.. will it detect the textures also ?
