Make component transparent

When working with assemblies it is sometimes prefereable to change the display of the component to be transparent by so that you can see inside or through the part for selection and visibilty purposes. Think of enclosures or guarding on an machine.

Is there a method that effects only the component display and not the part display? I don't want to be changing my materials settings everytime I want to make a part transparent for few minutes or to show others what is going on "under the hood."

Re: Make component transparent

Ryan,

Select the part(s) you want to make transparent and on the Home tab-Style group, find the drop down with different view styles.  This only affects the assembly display and does not affect the part file or material.

Ryan,

Select the part you want to be transparent, go to view, style and select a color that is clear or glass.

Thank you both. My style was cramped..:-) on my menu.

Next is to get show/hide and style in my radial button and off we go!
