Measurement of a 3D sketch

Hello my friends,

I created a model for design copper pipes for my work, I mostly use a 3D sketch to design them and I need to obtain the total lengh of the 3D sketch.

I use the measure command and then I click to the command "create a variable" to expose it for use on the draft, but I always have to do it by hand, is it possible to do it automatically, for example assign a variable that grow it's value while I build the 3D sketch?

TIA for answering

Hi @hawcad,

No I don't have Xpress route licence, I always do them easily using the sketch 3D, so I don't need that icence...

Hi @Davide_Parolin

no need for a xPresRoute license.

You just can use the Structure Frame feature in assembly.

Create Your pipe using a Frame component and You will get the Straight Length in draft BOM automatically

And another advantage here is, that You can draw Your 3D sketch with simple lines only. No need for arcs.

This will be a value within the Structure Frame option settings.

Wolfgang
