Measuring between entities

I am trying to get a measurement between the X-Y plane and a face on a body but when I put the x-y refplane as element 1 and the face of the body as element 2 I get no results.

When I manually do the command (measure minimum distance) I get the result I am looking for.

Any help would be nice.

Hello @TS-GSSO

Do you mean a call to the Meaurement API function call ?

In that case, the Solid Edge Developer Forum is the recommended place to post this for a better response.

Re: Measuring between entities

have you tried using the "measure" command under the Inspect, 3D measure. Select your plane and face. then change "distance type" to min.

Most of the time, I find it faster to create a new sketch to get the needed measurement. The mixture of edge types can be isolated this way using includes and sketched lines.

I tend to just use PMI for this, as that way I never have to go back and check what that measurement is again. As I've gotten older my brain seems to forget things I just looked into. BTW what time is it again?

I always use measure minimum distance and just change the element location type as I need.
