I've been getting messages He's Dead Jim. Comes from Google Chrome. Almost all the time I get this message. I have only one or two tabs open in Google Chrome. I checked the Internet, it is not a virus. I believe the memory is low. I went to the computer tab to properties and I followed the direction to the best of my ability I got to the last set I got (Stuck).

I want to increase the memory I do not where to go to increase.for Solid Edge. I've added a video to show where I am at. Any Thoughts?

Hi Greg,

Can you post an image of the exact error message you are seeing?...although, your browser errors don't have anything to do with this community.

However, adjusting your "virtual" memory probably won't help you, especially if it's Solid Edge that is causing the available system memory [RAM] to be consumed.

Is this happeneing to that BOXX system [with 16GB RAM] you bought?

What version of Solid Edge Student Edition are you on?? [upgrade to ST7 if you haven't already, as it is a 64bit application, which doesn't have the RAM limitation, like a 32bit app does]

>From what I have gathered it's coming from Google Chrome.
I do not believe Boxx WorkStation is the problem.
All I want to do is increase virtual memory. I have very complicated
drawings that require speed. Not waiting for the hour glass to open.
Sometimes I will wait 5 to 10 min if I am Lucky.
Also, I've deleted many files to increase memory.
Added is the link to He's Dead Jim.
When He's Dead Jim pops his head, no time to catch him.

Thank You

OK, that's a pretty abstract approach to delivering system news, by Chrome.....do you get this message ONLY when Solid Edge is running, or even if it's just in the background, while your web browsing?

Deleting files will NOT free up "memory" in this context. It actually means the RAM......not the storage space on the hard drive.

Anyway, back the pertinent question,....what version of SE are you using?

I have Solid Edge ST7 Student Edition.

This happens while I save as or any other command.

It also happens Google Chrome closed or open.

Will it help my cause to buy Solid Edge software.

and will the software have a higher memory.(?)

Well that is a good start.....because, as of ST7, Solid Edge ONLY exists in 64bit architecture. This allows maximum system memory [RAM] addressing [usage], and a commercial version will respond the in exactly the same way, in this aspect.

What does your system properties display as the total installed memory?

I've seen that message a bunch of times. Google Chrome. Usually when an addin or the whole program just crashes. Do you always run Chrome in the background? What if you ran Firefox instead?

I'd sort through your Chrome addins and get rid of "questionable" stuff. Personally, I don't like Chrome because it's a massive spyware app, but that's a separate issue.

I got in touch with BOXX WorkStation). I set the same video I sent you yesterday. Windows is using all of 16GB. They suggested to go back and uncheck the Automatically manage page file size, click on custom size and type in both initial size and the mazimum size to 4096 MB.

Keepng fingers crossed.

4 GB is too small a setting for your system.

Set your min and max file size for Virtual memory to be 2 X RAM installed.
