Most CAD programs I've used have middle mouse button for rotation of 3d model. It does work in SE. However...randomly I get a magnifying glass. I can't seem to figure what I may be doing differently or why I would care to. Middle button should do one thing...rotate my model. It is infuriating. Any setting changes?
When the Control key is kept pressed, middle mouse button press-and-drag does create a zoom effect with the magnifying glass visible.
When the middle mouse button is a scroll wheel, instead of just a button, then scrolling it too zooms in and out, though without a magnifying glass.
Check if you knowingly or un-knowingly are using one of the modes above.
The middle mouse button otherwise consistently rotates the model in all 3D environments Part, Assembly and Sheetmetal in ST6. Not aware if this has changed in later versions.
Good point Tushar about the middle button being a button and a scroll. That would explain the inconsistancy. However I never have this issue with Pro/e. I will have to keep this in mind. Thanks! Wayne
