Motion simulation

I try to run a simple simulation of some linked panels using Solid Egde (ASM environment). However, I face some problems when creating a model.

A simplied model is presented on the image below.

The panels should move along the three (3) path lines using a path relationship. The panels itself are connected using slot joints. Therefore, I used aslo a path relationship.

When I move panel 1 approximately 200mm inwards all panels are moved. This is not what I want that happens.

The others panel should move only if the joint in the slot will make contact with the steel. On this moment, the joint will stay in the centroid of the slot as shown on the sketch below.

Does anyone has an idea how I can solve this problem?

Does anyone has another solution to run simple analyse as decripted above?

Thanks in advance.

Hi @joeri17,

maybe You should change to Physical Motion.

Then the physical contact of Your parts also will be taken in consideration.

Hi hawcad,

Unfortunately, the physical motion option doesn't work. I can only use the drag comment using "no analysis".

Any idea how I can solve that one?

HI @joeri17

just tested it here, because my first idea was, oh, will this not work with path relation, but no, this is not the case.

On the other hand, I can not see big dfferences wether I use "Physical Aanlysis" or "No Analysis".

regards
Wolfgang

Hi @joeri17,

Could you share your model?
