Naming Sheets

Is there a trick to using the ampersand in the sheet name? I can use other symbols such as '@' and '*' but it doesn't display the '&' symbol when I try to name a sheet using it. For example "Spindle & Spacer" doesn't show the '&' in the sheet name.

The Ampersand is commonly used as a control character in a number of types of encoding and formatting so I'm guessing something in SE is trying to interpret it. If you try putting two ampersands in place where you want one, it will display one.
Example: "Spindle && Spacer"
