Hi Edgers,
we have found following problem when creating a new part or sheet metal document.
independed what geoemtry You have (a single block, a tab, a cylindar) and which material You select, after updating the physical properties any value keep 0 (zero.
That means no volume, no area no mass
Any checks about Auto-Update, Update on Save etc. are set to Yes
Solid Edge Version is ST9 MP11 and Win10 with Creators Update!
The user claims that he thinks this behaviour occurs since the Win10 update
Could this be verified?

@hawcad, I'm not seeing that. A new part has those properties after I create a feature and update physical properties.
Edit: I don't the have the Win10 Fall Creator's Update though. And I'm on ST10 so this info may be useless.

Hi @bshand
this is the same what I personall can see.
But I also do not have the Win 10 update installed and I'm also using ST10
So I hope, that there is anybody out there, having ST9 and Win10 with Update who can confirm that there are problems or there are not

@hawcad, It turns out, much to my dismay, that some of us do have the Win10 Fall Creator's update, me included.
The mass props are ok but we are seeing the dialog slowdowns in SE. Our networking guys installed the updates last week even though I expressly asked that they not include that one. People!

Hello Wolwgang and Bruce,
In October I did install ST10 MP1 on my production desktop with W7 64bit Ultimate with all updates (exceptt W10 push junk) and on my home laptop with updated W10 64bit Pro 1709 with all updates upto KB4058043, except one from today 2018-01-04, KB4066892.
SInce then I have not touched Se, working with my SolidWorks 2017 only.
After reading your post I did check both computers and seen the following:
ST10 MP1 W7 - New SE par, Physical Properties Update Change - OK, Mass = 0, after Update call Mass = 0
- New SE psm, Physical Properties Update Change - OK, Mass = OK, after Update call Mass = OK
ST10 MP1 W10 - New SE par, Physical Properties Update Change - SE will Crash, Mass = 0
- New SE psm, Physical Properties Update Change - OK, Mass = OK, after Update call Mass = OK
After installing SE MP3 on both computers and being forced to restart laptop with todays KB4066892 update, reboot etc, results ar the same on the both computers as above.

@milanw, You don't say whether these new parts have any features.
Edit: And I'm confused by your "0" and "0K". Are you meaning zero and zero kilograms or Okay?

Sorry Wolfgang for the typo in your first name, as the slowakische deutsche from Pressburg, on my paternal grandfather side I should know better.

@milanw, Hey, no offense intended. I don't know you, you didn't say, so I had to ask.
