When opning a STEP file in ST7 and files from ST2 the piece become over sized 1000 mm.
Does anybody know or have a solution for this...? as ST6 doesn't had this problem
I work with vendor provided step files quite a bit using ST7 and haven't experienced a problem.
A possible solution would be to insert a copy of the scaled down part into a new part and apply a corrective scale as you do so.
Unfortunatelly that's what i have being doing, but this problem appears with ST7, as i have being receiving files from this customer for a many years, and with all earlier versions of Solid Edge i never had any problem.
And what is strange is the STEP files have been done ina earlier version of Solid Edge (ST2)
Thanks for you comments
If you can attach an original step file I'd be glad to try it.
If they were originally ST2 can you get those versions instead of step?
Have you discussed this problem with your reseller or with GTAC?
Whenever possible... ALWAYS try to get native files.
if you can not get native go for parasolid...
and if you had too... "i guess" send me an iges...
this way we translate data 1 time not 2x.. once out and once back in...
dont forget Solid Edge can open most of the main players native file types...
and... parasolid is the kernel sharded under the hood between SE, SW and others so the native data is "the same" and there is really not tranalation of the data
Did you attempt to attach a file? If so, no luck. Maybe change the extension if you're getting blocked to .pts or something.
What Matt said is true. ST2 would be best. Parasolid is not always available but if you are requesting files from your supplier he could supply it in that format presumably.
