Hi @bshand

I also missed the drawing capability within snipping tool, but last week I have found a snipping tool advanced, which also is for free and has this additional functions for drawing lines an arrows, boxes and text.

I will post the link when back in office

regards
Wolfgang

Hi @Equinoxe,

besides the settings mentioned by @bshand, @SeanCresswell and @rbhaskin,

please don't oversee the settings in assembly options to show selected parts as box and outlined only.

I more believe that this is the reason for that behaviour.

Wolfgang

I use Sketch for Windows which has a good collection of arrows and symbols.

It is a free tool.

Also try Paint.Net which is an alternative to MS Paint and has a larger collection of shapes including arrows.

@Tushar I also used to use Skitch but after Evernote dropped support for it I moved on :-(

P.S. I now use Greenshot.

I remember Dave, you had mentioned about Skitch in one of the discussions. It has some cool arrows and text effects.

Greenshot shapes are coarse, though good for quickly posting on the forum.

For serious blog writing and videos, I have my copies of SnagIt and Camtasia.

And it's true - the best 'free' option out there is Greenshot.

I use Greenshot in combination with Paint.net - Greenshot for the actual capture and Paint.net if I need to draw on it.

"Use shading on selection" was already checked. My colleague installed Maintenance Pack 14 for ST9 and everything seems to be back in order...

I thought our technician did it, but apparently that was not the case ...

Thank you all for your help!

PS: thanks for the photo editing softwares, that could be helpful!

Hi @bshand

Hi Edgers,

I promised You to find the tool I mentioned before:

it is "Snipping Tool PLus"

But I have seen that it is available in German only, and it also seems to be older.

OK, it still is wrking under Win10 but the tools mentioned by @uk_dave, and all others even seem to be more comfortable and will have mor function.

Wolfgang

Thanks @hawcad.  I like Greenshot so much I even donated. I'll probably just use Greenshot's editor but I like the fact that it has links to other programs like paint.net, etc.

So thanks to @Tushar, @uk_dave, @GregLuckett.
