Part selection style in assembly

Experimenter

Hi, we just installed Solid Edge on a new computer, I imported my settings and theme and everything works fine except for the style of selected parts in an assembly. When I point my cursor at a piece, only the outline appears instead of having a total selection of the piece.

Thank you,

Hi there @Equinoxe,

This does not appear to be an SE specific thing, but more a system display issue.

Firstly, are the Windows builds & versions the same?...and what about the Graphics card & drivers, are they the same??

Not sure if you have been following any of the chatter on here about the issues surrounding the recent Windows 10 "Fall Creators Update", and also the state of nVidia drivers, which are apparently about to release an update, to fix some display glitches seen in certain areas of SE.

It could be what @SeanCresswell says but the first thing I thought of was the "use shading on selection" setting under the view tab in options. Although it's not clear that that's appropriate I thought I'd put it out there if just to eliminate it.

Looks like you beat me to the punch @rbhaskin. Great minds and all that. Or we're both just wrong.

I could use a better graphical tool. I just use the Windows snipping tool. What did you use that allows you to generate that cool arrow?

Ah yeah, thanks @bshand & @rbhaskin.....forgot about that even being an option.

Set it and forget it....seems pretty accurate for me. [well and truly Forgotten Robot LOL ]

Thanks. I forgot to mention that I have Scottish roots. IOW I'm cheap. Umm, thrifty. And can't really justify having the company pay for it. Although I'm sure they would.

Snagit is a very handy tool for sharing info with others quickly and it is cheap enough for this owner / operator to get and works well

I agree but the Windows snipping tool is good enough. And, well, free. I really like free.
