Parts are missing from step file

I have an assembly and I am trying to create a step file to send to someone without access to the file locations of the parts within the assembly.

It seems as though everything but one part is being created in the step file, when opening the step file as an assembly the part is missing and isn't in the tree. Has anyone experienced this before?

Hi,

could this parts consists of surfaces only?

This might be a reason for not to be exported.

There also is an option available for exporting those type of objects too.

Wolfgang

Hi Wolfgang.

I am also having the same problem.

I am running ST7.  What options do I need to check to open the complete assembly?

I have tried all I can think of.

Cheers Darren

Hi @Dazzie

before saving the STEP file, there is an Options button.

What does the options show when You press it?

HI @Dazzie

I would try to change two options:

  • I would turn OFF to show Displayed Items Only
  • and I would use the BETA STEP translator, due to the fact that it was a bet in earlier versions of SE,
but now is the standard Step translator, and can cover more items, maybe better, what I know at least faster.
