Property display

Let's say I have a property L with a current value of 6.125

I can easily control the display from 0 to 3 decimals. But this is a fixed result.

In some cases in the parts list (not the one above) I have dynamic display but I'm not sure what controls or created that.

What I mean by dynamic display is:

if L=6; 6 is displayed

if L=6.125; 6.125 is displayed

as apposed to 0 digits where:

if L=6; 6 is displayed

if L=6.125; 6 is displayed

or 3 digits where:

if L=6; 6.000 is displayed

if L=6.125; 6.125 is displayed

What formatting or situations creates the dynamic display?

I have been looking for such myself. Where did you see the dynamic display in Solid Edge?

How can I explain this better?

Two cases:

case 1, x=6

case 2 x=6.4375

In case 1, I want 6 to display (NOT 6.000)

in case 2, I want 6.438 to display

how do I get that done?

I currently see this behavior with:

Flat_Pattern_model_CutsizeX

Flat_Pattern_model_CutsizeY

I did not do anything to get that done, it just is that way in the parts list.

However, I think I cheated. I only left room for just under 4 characters(and a decimal) to display. It could be trying to display 7 digits past the decimal, and I did not allow that room to show up.

Oh, so like in a dimension where you can turn off trailing zeroes? I don't know how to do that or if it can be done with property values in a parts list.

Bingo. This is for the purpose of saving room. I draft everything on A size paper, Every 1/16" of an inch on paper is valuble.

unrelated: I hope the hole table can vary in height in ST8. That missing control costs me extra pages much of the time just to display a hole table.
