Is there a possibility to resise a simple hole to a threaded hole?
I insert a part copy with holes of diameter 7mm and want to change these holes to M6.
Now I always resise to diameter 3 and make new holes M6 with the same center point.
What if after inserting part copy you run recognize holes and then change the hole type?
Recognize Holes is just the answer.
It does exactly what You request.
After import the model start the Recognize Hole command and change immediately the hole specifications to whatever You need and want.
Thanks for your effort, but this isn't possible.
I work in ordered.
If I change to synch I loose the link to the original part, wich I need to keep.
In attachment the files.
Use Delete Face to get rid of the holes from the part copy.
Then add the holes you want.
If you want the new ones to stay associative to the old hole positions create a sketch and place circles linked to the old positions before you do delete face. Then place the new holes positioned to the sketch.
Thanks, but that's also a work around, just like I do.
So if I get it right, there is no 'one action' solution to change a hole to a smaller threaded hole.
Not if you want it associative.
That's the point really - do you want the copy to always be a copy?
What about using FOP's if you need different hole options ?
A bit cumbersome but a possible option.
They need to be associative.
The first one is a middle one. There the bold goes trough the hole to a nut.
The second one is for an end. There the hole needs thread for the bold because there will be no nut.
FOP looks perfect, but has let me down once to much.
You can't do this directly only the original holes are threaded... What you do is the simplest way, but sometimes I use this workaround:
