@centernorway - I disagree with this request. There is no way that Siemens can make every user happy when delivering background templates. Plus, as others stated here, 99% of companies will have their own custom templates that will be used. I've yet to work for a company that didn't have their own backgrounds.
I challenge the community
What if we make a library where everyone shares their drawing templates / backgrounds and title blocks.
Who covers everything, catalog drawings, production drawings and so on?
A library where you can quickly find what you need.
And with file types you can import to all cad software.
What do you think about that?
I personally am underwhelmed. In all my years of CAD use across many types I've probably spent about 0.001% worrying about drawing formats. And I can't think of many occasions where having more generic or more custom formats from other companies would have helped in any way. It always required a little customization which usually involved basically imitating, for the most part, the existing legacy formats which the company already had.
I agree, every company must have their own background formatted to what they prefer. How and where their company name/logo/address might reside is probably the biggest difference. I don't know anyone that would use the standard backgrounds that just say SOLID EDGE.
again I must disagree to that
Thank for tips everyone.
Looks like I have to draw my own titles block backgrounds then.
My opinion is that when you buy software for xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx dollars, there should be tons of bakgounds to
I think I should developed the best cad software if I could, and if I had the skils an money.
It is not any perfect cad software out there yet
I would like to see my invested money better spended as for creating tons of backgrounds, nobody ever will use.
Especially as there are available enough already.
To create Your own favourites and template will take a maximum of half an hour.
This - our - money could be used better!
