I've never had any issues until recently, but I'm getting really long hangs and freezing pretty consistently when I do some things like take a measurement, or (sometimes) when I open a part etc. It doesn't seem to be related to the complexity of the part or assembly that I'm opening, and my PC is very capable (12 core Xeon, 16GB of RAM, NVIDIA Quadro K4000). As I said above, I've never had any issues until recently, just wondering if there is something I can try or if I should just go for a clean install.

Not sure what it could be, but virus scanners have been known to grab files while scanning and cause interruptions like that but it is usually temporary. Also, loss of network connectivity to a server resource SE is pointing to might be another culprit.
Unfortunately the only thing that fixed it was a full re-install. So I still don't have any idea of what was causing the problem, but it did get fixed.
