ST9 Assembly relations - flip as default

Dear Experts,

All the time we have an annoying problem when add relations between two bodies. Its faceing two faces but opposite sides!

Is there a chance to flip this choice once for good rather than clicking all the time? Smiley Sad(( It is ridiculous.

Thank you for chance to live better with this tool.

Can you post a picture or example of what you are trying to accomplish to help better understand?

You can try using Capture Fit from the 'Assemble - Options' dialog when assembling. It will position the part correctly everytime. See attached image.

Re: ST9 Assembly relations - flip as default

capture fit as was recomended...

or

drag parts so that the faces being mated are closest to on another and orientated corrected...

I beleive the solver is simply trying to make the relationship by moving the componants the min distance...

one you model long enough you simply get used to using the flip command...   dont forget you can do this while making the relationship!!!   read your prompt bar for tips...

Re: ST9 Assembly relations - flip as default

If you are using mate as the default for plane mates, Use planer aligned instead.

Mate by default, has the normals face each other

Planer align be default, has the normals the same direction
