I want to ask you with ST9 loaded: I noticed when I launch SE, SE process takes 15-25% of my CPU (one logic core is on 100%). When I open any 3D part and do nothing, SE process on CPU drops to 0%. When I close this part, again SE process takes 20% of CPU resources. See pics below.
Is it only on my machine?
Thanks for info.
ST9 - standby (no file open):
ST9 File is opened:
for those who cares, I found a little bit more about my problem.
When ST9 is open and menu "Information" (Help, etc.) is up, the CPU is almost on 0% usage of Edge.exe process.
When I switch to "Open" or other menu, CPU usage of Edge.exe process is 15-20%. When I swith back to "Information" menu, CPU drops to 0%
Please, can anybody with ST9 test this?
ST9 and Windows 10 Pro here. CPU usage is close to zero all the time when Solid Edge is idle, no matter what menu or toolbar is open. CPU usage rises only if I'm opening a part.
Dell Precision 7510
16 Gb RAM
I can confirm the similar behaviour.
I'm running ST9 on updated Win10 from Win7
ST9 - standby (no file open)
ST9 - file open:
I will ask somebody to try this in the office on ST9 Czech next week.
Stay tuned...but I have never seen language specific memory issues.
SE Release Manager
One of my coworkers installed Czech ST9 on her Win 10 machine and compared memory usage to her English Win 10 system. She did not see any spikes on the “no file open” state – near zero usage (.5%) switching between backstage menus, settling back to zero usage within a second or two, only spiking a bit on file open or close.
We wanted to report back...
thank you for testing this issue.
It seems this is isolated issue. Today I tested it on another machine where W7 (Czech) was upgraded to W10 (Czech). ST9 (Czech) works lika a charm without significant CPU usage on "Open" or other menu.
So I think this is probably related to something in OS, not directly SE fault.
