Hi everyone. currently, ST8 & ST9 are being used at the same time.
Modeling work is only for ST8 and ST9 is for design manager only.
ST9 design manager get an error as shown attach file.
What is the cause of this problem?
How do i get this problem?
Thanks in advance ~~~
looks like a missing OCX component.
So either this has to do with the dual installation, what IMHO never is a real good practice, or with an installation where You had to less rights.
So I would uninstall every SE programm, clean all registries and folders, turn off the UAC and would do a new installation of ST9 but this time (and this always is my recommentation) "Run as Administrator" (right mouse button on exe).
And then let see what will be, what works and hopefully not a "What doesn't work!"
This seems like it might be problematic anyway. If you do a save as from the ST9 design manager which format, ST8 or ST9, does the new part take on?
README explicitly states "Design Manager (formerly called Revision Manager) should not be used to edit the links of files that will continue to be opened by an earlier version of Solid Edge".
If running dual versions, you must set the version you wish to use at the time with the "SESetActiveVersion" utility otherwise you will have issues using the apps. Also make sure you are running the latest Maintenance Patch for ST9 (make it the active version before installing).
Just curious why you'd be modelling in ST8 and managing data in ST9? Is this being performed on 1 system or many or is this many ST8 installs and One system dedicated to ST8 and ST9 data manager?
As others have indicated you have to be carefull running multiple installs of SE on one machine. Id stay well clear of it if I were you.
as now mentioned more than once, I think this combination and use of different SE modules of different versions might not be the best approach to work with.
You should decide for one version, uninstall everything, clear all and then install the selected version of SE
This IMHO will help the best
ST9 design manager does not working anything.
I re-installation ST9, I can use ST9 design manager.
The question you don't answer is "why". Why are you doing this?
