ST9 Meshing Issues

[ Edited ]

Hello Everyone,

I'm having some difficulty meshing out a part for buckling analysis.  I've extracted a surface from my thin walled part and have simplified the geometry somewhat to eliminate some small sections.

The problem that I'm having is that I keep getting the following error and cannot find any way to locate the culprit element.

Is there any way ot locate a specific element or failed elements in Solid Edge?

Thanks!

Hi,

I have a tipp. Pls, try to toggle "Maximize quad elements" option off (Mesh option -> Surface mesh tab).

Re: ST9 Meshing Issues

Aday,

for a Solid Mesh you have a 'Mesh quality' check of elements.

Deselect 'Modify study/generate only surface results', and then 'RMB/show poor quality' on the Mesh in Pathfinder. This will highlight the bad elements.

But as far as I understand not for a surface mesh.

Good luck /Ulf

Re: ST9 Meshing Issues

Thanks for the suggestion!  Turning off the "maximize quad elements" helped significantly.  I also had to mesh it with a very fine mesh, but that didn't get me there without turning off the max quad element option.

Thanks again!
