I just got my message with links for my download of Solid Edge ST9 Student Edition.
After completing the download, I attempted to open the program.
The following message came up on my screen:
I'm on a standard edition of Windows 10. Should I be downloading ST8 instead?
If not, what should I do to get the program working?
Any help would be greatly apprieciated

While your download stopped, it is most likely not complete, therefore when attempting to run it returns the "corrupt" message.....you will need to retry the download.
The executable is a very large file, nearly 3GB, so a download manager can help with slower internet connections, and is recommended, to avoid timeouts & interuption resets, etc.

I reattempted the download after ths happened and I had exactly the same issue, however that was before I came here so wasn't using a download manager.
Could ou recommend such a download manager?

I added the Chrono extension and used this for the download.
Initially, it stated that it was a 1.98GB file that'd take 2 hours to download.
Then, after 20 minutes with only 228.4MB downloaded, Chrono said it had finished the download.
What's going on?
Oh, and as an addition to my previous reply, I've still got exactly the same issue. The download manager doesn't seem to have helped at all, and I'm now really confused as to what's going on and how I can solve it.
Sounds like the distribution server you are hitting has an incomplete copy of the SE install files. Hoping somebody from Siemens sees this...
It'd make sense if that was the case.
It does leave me playing the waiting game but can't complain, it's a free academic license after all.

I'm in the exactly same problem, i couldn't solve this, i 've tried to install .net framework 3.5 and even doing that the problem continues. if someone knows one way, please help.
