No, we run floating licenses but the license file still resides in the local folder.

I think what it does is check credentials against the server license, which keeps track of what/how many are available.

All our utility does is copy a different version from the server to local.

 

We don't run Insight or Teamcenter - just plain 'vanilla' as you call it.

How do you change the .xml file to allow for users to change the template folder? we want to allow the users to have their own custom templates that they can use.

If you're using a server located options.xml for everyone then I don't think they can. They could save the templates with a unique file name in the template folder.

 

Edit:

I take it back. You can allow changes to the template location in options.xml. I'm not sure how it works in practice among many users but change "no" to "yes" in template location in seadmin or change the xml directly.
