Hello,

There is not a great way to do it but if you just want to scale something this is a way.

- Open an part.

- Select "Part copy".

- Select model.

- In the new window you have the option to scale.

I use this when i get STEP files in the wrong scale.

Thanks for the reply,
I know about scaling parts, what I want to know how to scale an assembly directly, without scaling the components individually.

You can select an assembly and then you can scale the entire assembly within that part.

I tried that but the whole assembly becomes a single part (.par). I want assembly as a scaled assembly.

What you could try after you got the entire assembly inside the part. Make a STEP file and generate that step file in an assembly.

You would have a really stupid model, but i don't know  what you want with the model after the scale.

The best I think you can do is create a scaled multi-body part when insert part copying the assembly. Then do a multi-body publish as an assembly and break the link.

Yeah, we don't have a good way right now to scale an assembly directly. But did you know there is a scale factor within the IGES header (and I think the STEP header as well) so that you can text edit the IGES file to scale the entire import? This could save you a lot of headache wen you import an assembly scaled in correctly.

@MLombard, what do you think of the method I mentioned?
