Hi i'm fairly new to solid edge and am wondering if there is a video out there showing step by step how to make a overlapping Lofted cone

Welcome to the Solid Edge family.....perhaps you could tell us a little bit about yourself and the your experience with CAD, etc.

did some drawing with SE 2D only and using the student ver to learn the program eventually graduating over to the paid program

Did you spot the video provided by @nominus38 further down the discussion?

He uses a slightly different approach, by using "Blue Surface" & "Thicken" commands......but basically you need to set up two similar [but different dims] sketch profiles, spaced appart on a parallel plane, then should be able to just run the Lofted Flange command to get there.

yes did see that and i did acually create one but i can't edit the dimentions and can't flatten it after it was created i must be missing something

Hmm....chances are, that the material collides....try allowing a slightly larger gap [it must have, even a microscopic gap to function] between the overlap.
