Sheetmetal Midplane Surface Export

Is it possible to export just the sheetmetal midplane surface to a STEP file (or other file type)? I keep getting a "this model contains no bodies" message when I select the  “export display only." I'd like to use the midplane surface for an FEA analysis outside Solid Edge.

Hi,

Use "export sheets (construction)" option.

Interesting. What is a "sheet body"? Is "sheet" referring to sheet metal?

My understanding has always been that "sheets" refers to surface geometry as opposed to solid geometry.  "Sheet metal" is just an unfortunate misnomer in this context.
