Sheetmetal question

Dear SE users, I have a sheetmetal question.

I need to make a cable guiding gutter. I want it to have a slight angle so the cable can be lifted to the desired height. Now in the design I want to close the huge cap between 2 flanges that are also not aligned.

Any thoughts how to close this? See the attachment for the ST8 sheetmetal file.

Hi @DanielMCMLXXXII,

I extended tabs that initially looked OK, but adding material there will not allow it to flat pattern....are you OK with having seperate parts to weld in?

Re: Sheetmetal question

That is the reason I made the flanges shorter so they don't hit each other at the flat Pattern.

So yes, I already thought it should be made with an extra part. But how do I make such a part that it fits perfectly with two flanges that are not aligned and a height difference?

If you have a solution I would really like to know it Smiley Happy

Re: Sheetmetal question

And we will weld it together so it is no problem.

@DanielMCMLXXXII,

OK...this is what I would do,....just a quick & dirty version for one side, so you can get the work flow I used. [see attached ST8 file]

I stayed in ordered mode, as per your original part.
